Course Overview

Music Therapy is an established health profession where music is used within a therapeutic relationship. This relationship is established to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social abnormalities in the individual that chooses an alternative path for treatment.

Treatment methods include creating, singing, moving to and or listening to music. Through this involvement with music within the therapeutic environment, clients are able to bridge gaps between treatment and other aspects of their lives. This allows the individual seeking treatment to use the connection between music and healthy thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviors into other aspects of their lives.
